Our speaker will be, Stella Miller the Communication, Education, and Outreach Manager at Wild Birds Unlimited of Syosset and the former president of Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon. Since 2006, shehas led numerous conservation advocacy efforts, including co-founding the Preserve Plum Island Coalition, coordinating habitat restoration projects and launching a national campaign to protectraptors at landfills.

We are pleased to announce that our member Missy Lynch has helped us to organize a bus trip to the Philadelphia Flower Show. The theme this year is “Rooted: Origins of American Gardens.” Save this date: Monday, March 2. We will depart from Westhampton Train Station Parking Lot at 7:00 a.m. and return that evening by around 8:00 or 8:30 p.m. We’ll be on a comfortable Hampton Jitney bus, with a toilet, and will arrive by late morning.
The ticket price will include both the bus and admission for non-PHS members to the Flower Show, a great deal. We’ll have minimal snacks on the bus, so bring your morning coffee, some fruit and other things you might want for the ride. There is plenty of food available within and around the Flower Show itself.
This is a great opportunity to see our country’s best Flower Show, without the headaches of driving and parking. It’s a long day, but we can relax on the bus. We’ll offer this opportunity to members first, through the month of January, and will then open it to other local garden clubs and other friends. We need a minimum of 35 people for the bus to be a “go.”
